What We Do

PTA is an integral part of HCES.  Without our fundraising efforts, which we try to keep to a minimum, we could not provide the support and events listed below.  A copy of the budget to-date is provided at each General Membership meeting.


  • SOS (Support Our Students) is our kickoff fundraiser.  We use these funds to begin collecting for the year's budget.  These funds help enhance our teacher's classrooms and school throughout the year.

  • Silent Auction is our Fall Fundraiser.  Again, all monies collected go to support the budget passed at the General Membership meeting in August.​

  • Hawk Hustle (formerly Boosterthon Fun Run) is our spring fundraiser.  In the past this event was held every other year, however with the increase in budget it has become yearly.  Previously we were also able to designate all funds to specific, extra school enhancements, this year the first amounts raised will be applied to general budget support.  All monies collected after that amount will be applied to our school wish list for items such as a GaGa Ball court, new laminator, and sprucing up school areas such as The Pit.

School Support: 

  • Funding enhancements in each classroom

  • Subscriptions such as Spelling City, BrainPoP, and Scholastic magazines

  • Library support

  • Specials (Art, ETA, PE, etc.) support

  • Reading Interventionist

  • Early Open (7-7:30am) Teacher while Cecil B. Ashburn is closed
